フレームは石の持つ有機的な曲線が形式ばった多角形ではない柔らかな印象に仕上がりました。ノーズパッドは抱き蝶仕様となっており、クリングスタイプでもネジを使わないスッキリとしたブリッジとなっております。男性、女性問わず、ご提案したいモデルです。
レンズは江戸時代から続く茶処でもある佐渡のお茶からヒントを得た、オリジナル配色のgreen teaとなります。デザイナーの熊谷が佐渡島で出会ったものは石だけではなく、番茶との出会いも”gravel"に影響を与えています。今回のカラーレンズは "coarse tea" 関西の番茶の色を表現しています。関東出身の熊谷は、佐渡島で地方によって番茶の色が異なっていることを知りました。眼鏡を通して、日本の文化に触れてほしいという想いも"gravel"には込められています。
“gravel”
デザイナーの熊谷 富士喜は佐渡島で貝を拾う老人と出会い、海や貝、石に魅了されました。本コレクション”gravel"では佐渡島の石を眼鏡のデザインに落とし込みました。使用したアセテート生地は「タキロン・ローランド」という日本で唯一のアセテート生地メーカーにて生産しています。海外産が殆どのアセテートですが、「MADE IN JAPAN」を大事にしてきたブランドとして、アセテートも国産にこだわりました。またアセテートはセルロイドと違い、生地の色・柄の自由度が高いのが特徴です。"gravel"(=「砂利」)をデザインに落とし込むのに最適な生地となります。
石へのこだわりは生地だけではなく、レンズの形にも反映されています。2種類のレンズの形は佐渡島の石からトレースしたもので、石の形のレンズをベースにして、フレームの形を起こしていくという特殊な手法をとることで、6型のすべての眼鏡で石を表現しています。また、石へのこだわりはテンプルエンドの形やカシメのパーツにも反映されています。”gravel”はディティールまで徹底的に石にこだわったコレクションです。
